Thanksgiving Treat……Eagles 33 Dallas 10

11/22 – 11/28/2014 – Arlington TX, Carefree RV Resort – Started off the week with a visit to Trader’s Village, which once again defined the statement that “Everything is bigger in Texas”.  Holy crap, the place had some 4,000 vendors, and there was no way you could see everything in one day.  I got “Cowboyed up” at the market with a new pair of alligator boots and a cowboy hat much to Chippy’s dismay; she swears I must have been a Cowboy in a former life.  On Monday we took the VIP tour of AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, and I can only say WOW, talk about the definition of American excess, the place is absolutely obscene.  The tour took us to almost all levels of the stadium and included visits to the Cowboys locker room, the Cheerleaders locker room, Jerry Jones’s man cave, the Cotton Bowl center, art collections, and finished up on the field where of course I stomped on the Dallas Star after Chippy posed for a few photos.  Some other highlights of our week were visits to Fort Worth Stockyards with the daily cattle drives, Billy Bob’s, Cowtown Coliseum, Cowboy Museum,  the Stockyards National Historic district which is filled with shops, restaurants, and a hotel and also Sundance Square in the downtown area which consists of 35 blocks of brick-paved streets lined with historic buildings, museums, churches, restaurants, bars, and boutiques.  The Thanksgiving Day football game between the Cowboys and the Eagles was the reason for our visit to the Dallas area in the first place as Chippy wanted to see her Cowboys put a whooping on the Eagles, but of course we all know by now it was the EAGLES that provided the ASS-KICKING on the Cowboys…BOOHAH!!!!  We finished the week in Fort Worth at the Stockyards Championship Rodeo, fantasying that I was out there in the arena…LOL. Now it is off to Arizona for our winter retreat in the sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Have fun play in the snow back home.
