Fall of 2015

9/15 – 12/31/2015 –Time to leave the family in NJ and head home to FL for the winter.  Our first stop was Selma NC where we spent the night at Rvacation RV Park, night number two was at a Flying J in Brunswick GA.  Stopped for Level 1 service on the RV in Brunswick before heading onto our next destination, Jacksonville FL.  Stayed for a week at Pecan Park RV Resort where we had a great time visiting our grandson and his new family, wife Joni and soon to be adopted son Justin.  Justin enjoyed his first sleep over in a motorhome, while mom and dad enjoyed a quite night at home.  The rest of the week we enjoyed fishing, visiting and touring the area.

Since we were picking up our daughter in Orlando the following week, we headed south to St Augustine the following week and stayed at Stagecoach RV Park were we enjoyed the Golf Hall of Fame and the oldest city in America, St Augustine, Daytona Beach, as well as squeezing in a couple rounds on local courses. After picking up Dina from the airport, we got to spend a few more days visiting with Joey, Joni and Justine, what a great two weeks.

Then it was off to Bonita Springs were we planned to spend the next three months at Bonita Lake RV Resort and unwind from our maiden RV journey from coast to coast to coast. Spent the next three months just relaxing, enjoying this beautiful area and beaches.  Made another trip to Jacksonville and enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with Joey, Joni and Justin. Unexpected circumstances changed our plans to live in the RV fulltime, and we did what we do best, go with the flow.  Our plan now will be to live in the condo for six months and travel for six months.  That being said, we cancelled our reservations for Jan – March 2016 in central Florida and began our move into our condo in Bonita Springs.  We frantically began shopping to furnish the condo since Dina, Serena and Taylor would be coming to spend Christmas and New Years.  Our next task was finding a home for the Motorhome for the next three months, which turned out to be quite a challenge as everything in our area was booked up.  Finally we found a storage facility in Cape Coral, about thirty miles away, a bit inconvenient but doable.  With everything in place we moved into the condo on December 15th, a full week ahead of our company…shewww!  The girls flew in on December 23rd looking a bit tired as they had to rise at 3am to catch the flight out of Atlantic City NJ at 7am, quite a task for today’s teenagers..LOL.  Since Dina had to work from home the rest of the day the girls had a chance to rest up and we enjoyed a quite day visiting.  The rest of the visit seemed to fly as we enjoyed dining out, hitting the beach and horseback riding. Chippy and the girls were able to squeeze in a trip up to Jacksonville for a few days to visit Joey, Joni and Justin while I stayed home with the dogs. Happy New Years and may the coming year be filled with the realization of all your dreams and resolutions.

Summer of 2015

6/27 – 9/15/2015 –  We started the summer with a family vacation at Normandy Farms in Foxboro MA.  We were joined by the Daniels family, Coleman family, the Senteneri girls, and the Padulese family.  We had a wonderful week full of crafts, swimming, sunning, campfires, great food and shopping, and best of all companionship.  Of course I managed to squeeze in a couple rounds of golf as well.   Next destination was Four Season’s Campground in Pilesgrove, NJ for the month of July where we enjoyed a very large open site, not too much in the way of amenities, but a reasonable rate for NJ.  The next couple weeks were not so exciting with doctor and dentist visits, cataract surgery for Chippy (which went wonderfully), but we did squeeze in a few nights out on the town with friends and family.   First week of August was another family vacation with the Daniels family, Coleman family with grandson Brayden, and Olivia representing the Senteneri family in Pittsburg PA.  We really had a great time with the highlights being dinner at Meat and Potatoes, lunch at Primanti Bros, fun day at Kennywood amusement park, paddle boarding, swimming and kayaking at Moraine State Park and of course the amazing dinners and campfires nightly.  The Steel City and countryside were beautiful as were the golf courses, but biking was out of my league as I could not handle the hills, sucks to get old.  We also wandered the Strip District (no strippers, just shops and restaurants) while the Daniels family made their first University visit with a tour of University of Pittsburg who have a very good physical therapy program which Serena is interested in pursuing. After vacation with the family it was back to Four Season’s Campground, and second cataract surgery for Chippy,  which also went extremely well, now she is 20/20 in both eyes and just needs reading glasses for the really small stuff.  We enjoyed visiting friends and enjoying the grandchildren for the rest of the summer, played some golf, ate, drank and were merry as we tried very hard to work it off with our 3 ½ mile walk each morning but to no avail.  Guess we just have to get used to old Mother Nature slowing our metabolism and getting fat.  We finished off the summer with a really nice surprise from Jack and Arleen who treated us to the Glassboro VFW party featuring the Rat Pack, with great performances from Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Jerry Lewis and a special appearance of Marilynn Monroe.  Good food, good friends, good entertainment and good times were had by all.  Now it is time to hit the road once more and head to Florida for the winter.  First stop is Jacksonville where we are really excited to visit with grandson Joe, his new wife Joni and son Justin. Goodbye everyone back home, we love and miss you already, but we gotta keep moving........stayed tuned for more from the Sunshine State………………………..
